Why is everyone so giddy over the SEC and BIG ten creating super leagues?
I just can't fathom knowing ahead of a season that no other conference will have the resources to compete and how it's very possible college football could cannibalizing itself.
When you have 112 teams told they don't matter those fan bases will move on in time. Long sitting rivalries are gone and a myriad of teams will travel 10000 miles in a season to play 5 road games.
Furthermore why is college football so unhappy with itself? Reports show attendance has raised two years in a row and TV ratings have remained steady.
Baseball made changes to the game because it was becoming unpopular. Now every year there are rule changes, realignment and just absurd ideas being thrown around. Who was complaining?
It's not my job to do anything but make a number better than the market but I do love cfb and it saddens me some.
The NBA has the opposite problem. They changed the rules of the game mid season and scoring dropped dramatically. What was a foul on Thursday before the all star game was no longer a foul the Thursday following the all star game.
That's a component I don't think any bettor could prepare for.
I still loving watching a game, any game really. The bulls OT win vs the pacers tonight was a pure joy I just turn into a fan again when games like that occur but they're so few and far between.
I love the NBA but there's a issue I think every gambler has and let's face it, the NBA has to get better about embracing gambling and DFS. Let's get real, no one is watching a raptors vs pistons game in March unless they have money on it.
Figure out the injury news already. I don't know on some days who's playing for who a hour before tip. I don't know which team is tanking this time of year until the lineups are reported 40 minutes to tip is the rule... C'mon already.
If we eliminate the gamblers and dfs folks we still have fans who pay to see games and tickets are as expensive as ever. At some point the league has to make a better product for home teams to where they can't just rest 3 starters including their best 2 players because it gives them a 4% better chance at a better pick in the draft.
On a different note my father and I have a steadfast rule of no politics. He's a MAGA guy and I'm a liberal guy but recently we broke this rule just for a moment.
I'm 45, he's 74 no ones changing anyone's mind about who they vote for but he was complaining about migrants just briefly in a anecdotal way but I explained how hurtful it was.
Yee my girlfriend who he adores and likewise was a migrant not even 26 years ago and she would be so hurt if he thought she came here only to take all the fast food jobs in California and raise the minimum wage solely to hurt some politicians chances at winning a election.
He quicky apologized and that was big and unexpected of him.
Im back to taking pieces (backing) poker players and I have to tell you, I think I'd be a shitty boss.
I asked a friend of mine who's a boss of people if he was a good boss and he said he thought so and he was fair.
I expect so little from others that when they do well I'm floored and excited for them and when they do lousy I'm more upset than they are despite only having a small % of their action.
I lack emotional control, can't be a good trait when dealing in business with others.
Been on a routine of gym 5 days a week and watch a movie or a TV series everyday and trying to stay out of my head more recently.
I can safely recommend the following TV series The morning show- apple TV Mr and Mrs smith- Amazon Curb your enthusiasm new and last season is the funniest it's ever been in my opinion. Best movies Past lives American fiction Dumb money
I have all but mastered cooking delicious meals for a diabetic if anyone needs recipes. I allow myself to eat out twice a week with friends and I can tell you that sugar addiction that I never was aware I had until the last 6+ months. I dream of bread, cookies, bagels etc on days I eat out.
My poor mother is bored. Only took 70 years but after raising 8 kids (3 of her own, 5 adopted) She has taken up chicken farming, bee keeping over the last 2 years and now is getting 2 goats so she doesn't have to pull weeds this spring.
God help me if a full time job, 9 chickens, 2 dogs, 2 bee hives to maintain year round and 2 teenagers are still in the house but are about to leave for college isn't enough that I need to learn how to herd goats!
